Can we change the stars, transcend our destiny, and alter the future? In this story, Jayanta's horoscope predicts his death at the age of 21, but his fiance, Jayanti, is expected to live 100 years. The demigod, Shani (Saturn) is determined to prevent the consummation of this incompatible marriage. However, a sadhu assures the couple that their destinies can be altered. A battle of wills ensues betwee the holy man and the demigod. Finally, Sri Padmavati, the consort of Lord Venkatesvara, comes to the aid of the couple. She instructs them to perform devotional sacrifices unto the Lord, but Shani resists the attempts of the couple tof fulfill their offerings. Yamaraja, the Lord of death, comes to take Jayanta.
